HEY GRINGO! THROUGH PERU
"Holds the audience spellbound. This is the show every traveller would love to be able to give." Evening News****
He bought a ticket, jumped on a plane and set off. No Rough Guide in the world could have prepared him for the consequences...
With no props, save his malleable face, Searles transforms the bare stage into a wild and explored landscape. From the palm fringed lagoons of the Caribbean, he takes us on a roller coaster ride up & over the Andes, down unknown tributaries of the Amazon, through crumbling cities, numerous bars and into the depths of the most brutal prison of the world.
A catalogue unfolds of close scrapes and surprise encounters - drug-smugglers, Dutch airline hostesses, Carmelite Monks, Maoist guerrillas, Mancunian ornithologists, Amazonian Indians and a French Shaman - not to mention crocodiles, jaguars and giant poo-eating centipedes.
