Live Music

Saturday 10th May at 8pm
In Central Studio
Blue Onyx and Kindred Spirit

Two incredible bands

kindred spiritKindred Spirit are an electrifying, original contemporary folk-rock band featuring “perceptive and intriguing” songs, from lead singer / song-writer / guitarist, Elaine Samuels, outstanding electric violin, extraordinary flute and saxophone, expert bass, drums and percussion and beautiful harmony vocals. The two lead instrumentalists, Annie Parker and Gavin Jones, enthral crowds with beautiful solos and thrilling, on the spot, improvised musical duels.
Elaine has already been featured on television and radio as well as at Glastonbury and many other festivals. Last year, you may have seen the band perform at “Weyfest” and “Basingstoke Live” and, in 2006, they were even invited to play at a special Linda McCartney Charity evening, at the Cavern Club, in Liverpool , where they impressed John Lennon’s sister, Julia, so much so that she went backstage to compliment them straight after their performance!

Blue OnyxBlue Onyx are an excellent Moody Blues tribute band. They are, in fact, the UK 's only Moody Blues tribute band and with their faithful arrangements, super musicianship and twin fronting flute players, they are quickly building up an appreciative fan base amongst Moody Blues lovers (who don't get to see their favourite band playing live so often these days). You won’t have heard much about them yet because they only formed last summer but if you love the Moody Blue’s music you definitely won’t be disappointed.

THE JON WALSH BLUES BAND
Live Studio Recording

jon walsh band

The Jon Walsh Blues Band is a real blues band! - Not a blues-rock band pretending to be a blues band. This is a band that can conjure up all the different colours and moods of the blues - it rocks, stomps, swings, boogies, howls, cries and weeps!

After the success of their first live album, "Can You Feel It?" The Jon Walsh Blues Band is performing and recording their new album at Central Studio in front of a live audience playing a selection of blues classics and original songs penned by Jon.

The band features four exceptional blues & jazz musicians:

Slidin' Jon Walsh - Vocals, electric & acoustic guitars, slide guitar, harp
Pete 'Mojo' Millar - Keyboards, backing vocals
Terry Michael - Drums & percussion
Peter Vanz - Bass, backing vocals

We are delighted to have the very talented Martin Wood as our Special Guest to open the show with some amazing steel guitar slide playing.

"Jon Walsh is a guitarist who can turn on the angst or wind up the boogie with equal aplomb", "a top notch band who are currently at the top of their game!", Reading Arts Centre, Thursday Blues Club.

"This Band has got it right, fantastic blues and a great presence on stage, a must see!" Basingstoke Blues Club.

REAL

realHailing from the British overseas territory of Gibraltar and the UK, Real, formerly known as Milbajac, revive sounds from the 80’s and 90’s, blending them with elements of modern rock and creating an explosive melodic combination of catchy choruses, deep lyrics and big guitars.

The band recorded their debut album “Shade of Grey" at the Power Station Studios in Florida during the latter part of 2003. Well known for his work with the likes of Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, The Ramones and many other great artists, legendary producer Tony Bongiovi helped capture the energy of their live shows along with the well crafted songs they had written.

The band’s first single, “Radio” received substantial international airplay and many positive reviews.

Joined recently by charismatic, new front man George Payas, the band are now recording their second album with producer Tony Bongiovi at the helm once again.

The Real band members have a wealth of experience as performers, having plied their trade on the same stage as several well known bands in the UK , Europe and as far as the Middle East . A new name, a new sound, a new front man, Real are heading towards the next level.....so grab a ticket and see them here!
